Keep safe on Facebook with Man and Vans Camden

June 30th, 2010
keep your stuff safe like we do at man and vasn camden 150x150Let’s face it, these days if you’re not on Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, Hi-Five or any other social networking site, you’re basically completely out of the loop, and have no life to speak of. Somewhat ironic, we feel. And when one is part of said social networking sites, one is inclined to share as much of one’s personal information with the world as possible, so that everyone can see what exciting things one is up to at any time of the day or night. But what about the potential dangers of letting everyone know when you’re around, when you’re out of the house, and when you’re on holiday? Who knows who’ll be reading that information, potentially knowing where it is that you live, and planning on making off with your prized possessions whilst the place is empty. Here at Man and Vans Camden, we’re dedicated to looking after your stuff whilst it’s in our care, whether we’re picking it up and dropping it off, or helping you do a full house move- and we think you should take care of it, too. So our advice to you is this- keep your personal info between friends, don’t spread it around where anyone could find it.
If you’d like any more information about how Man and Vans Camden could help you with your move, and the security we offer, please do get in touch and one of our team will be able to answer any questions you may have.

Man and Vans London meets loved ones at the airport

June 23rd, 2010
man and vans London can help with pick ups 150x150We’re all busy these days, working long hours to pay the bills, and then trying to sociable with our colleagues/chums after work, before running home to see the significant other/the kids, to kiss them goodnight and possibly read a story (to the kids, that is. Usually, anyhow). We want to make sure everyone feels loved and treasured, which isn’t always so easy to do with such time constraints, which is how Man and Vans London can help.
If your family are planning on taking a trip away, and you simply cannot find a way to weasel out of work to collect them from the airport, let us do the hard work so you don’t have to. Following a unique and exciting enquiry from a client last week, we can now officially say that our guys will take any selected pets (provided they come with the appropriate carrying/transporting equipment) to any airport, and collect passengers at the other end, with the aforementioned animals there to give an extra special and welcoming surprise. It’s not quite the same as having you there, but it’s a pretty good substitute until you’re able to escape the office.
So if you’re looking to treat the ones you love to a welcome home that they’ll not forget in a hurry, and of course get some extra brownie points for your own thoughtfulness, please do get in touch and we can help arrange it for you. We look forward to hearing from you!

Antiques stolen during house removal

June 16th, 2010
man and vans merton will keep your antiques safe 150x150As with most people, we at Man and Vans Merton like to keep up with current affairs, and always keep an eye on the news for more interesting things going on in the world of removals (and around the rest of the world, of course…). We were shocked and horrified, however, to read about an antiques collector who recently suffered a burglary right outside his old home, as the removal van was parked and loaded, ready to take his prized possessions to his new residence. Around midday on the 22nd May, the thieves seized the opportunity to nick the van, presumably having been watching carefully whilst the loading had been taking place, leaving the antiques’ owner having to move house without some of his most sentimental and valuable possessions. Police around the Caterham area, where the incident took place, have asked antique dealers to keep an eye out for some of the items in the vehicle.
At Man and Vans Merton, we take every possibly precaution to keep your valuables and other items safe from harm during every stage of the moving process. If you’d like to test out our friendly and reliable service, then please give us a call with details of your move, and we’ll turn up and do the rest. We look forward to hearing from you!

Man and Vans Lambeth gets the party started

June 9th, 2010

man and vans lambeth gets summer parties started 150x150It’s summer at last in the UK. The sun seems to be poking it’s lazy head out from the clouds, and it looks like we might just have something of a decent chance to get a tan on home turf. Not only this, but it’s time to get organising some super summer parties, booking your friends for your date of choice, and making sure you’ve got all the food and decorations needed to make it a bash to remember. Maybe you’re even going the whole hog and renting a venue for your summer party, and maybe you’ve got tonnes of awesome props/decorative pieces to move…which is where Man and Vans Lambeth comes in. With our friendly and efficient service, and with boys that could lift a large elephant (we’re not sure about this one, but it’s somewhat likely), we can move your streamers/baubles/paddling pool (we’re thinking pool party here), from wherever you are, to wherever the fun will be, whenever suits you. Sounds good, doesn’t it? So drop us a line and one of our friendly team will be able to give you a quote for your move. Please note: we love parties, and love getting invited. Just so you know.

Man and Vans and Snuffles the Python

June 2nd, 2010
man and vans London could move your python 150x150It was a regular Wednesday afternoon in the Man and Vans London office…at least it was until we received something of an usual request. “Do you move rare species of animals?” inquired a potential customer over the livechat application on our website, “As I have a python and a tarantula who need taking somewhere”. After a little thinking and discussion around the office, yes, said we, as long as they are in a secure box and can travel safely in the back of the van without supervision. “Hmmm”, quoth the potential customer, “thing is, Snuffles, the python, is afraid of the dark”. It was at this point we got a little suspicious (we later found out it was our Soph playing a little joke on us, what a card she is), but it did get us thinking.
If you have any animals you need moving, and are able to take full responsibility for their comfort and safety whilst they travel with us, then please do get in touch and we’ll be able to talk through carrying your kitty, or moving your mouse. If they are afraid of the dark, however, it does make the whole process a little tricky…
