We at Man and Vans love to move things- heavy things, light things; you name it, we’re ready to carry it. No one can say that we don’t work our bodies hard. So, we thought why not exercise our minds and creative flair both at once, and try our hand at acrostic poetry. In an ode to Man and Van Wandsworth, we’ve penned what you see below. It’s a beauty, we’re sure you’ll agree:
Man and Van Wandsworth: always on hand,
At your beck and call for any removal needs.
Valiant young men to the rescue,
With gentle hands to take care of your wares.
Any time, any place, any object,
No job too big or too small.
Don’t hesitiate, phone the lovely Roman today!
Sweet and friendly, he’ll quote you a price,
When we can be there and how many men we’ll bring.
Oh, how lovely to have a friendly Wandsworth removal service,
Ready and willing to help out the customer.
Trusty employees will ensure you have
Happy moving with Man and Vans.

As the Olympics draw ever nearer, Wandsworth residents are being encouraged to vote for the landmark that they’d most like to see representing the borough on their Olympic pin, which will be released as part of a set, along with one for each of the 33 other London areas, to commemorate the 2012 games. The favourite sites which have made it to the short list include Wandsworth Bridge, Battersea power station, and the Buddhist Peace Pagoda which makes for a beautiful centre piece in Battersea Park.
We at Man and Van Wandsworth have our own thoughts on the borough’s contribution to the pins, which are set to become valuable collector’s items, although we’d better get cracking, as voting closes at midnight on the 18th October.
The idea behind the pins comes as part of the Landmark London scheme, in partnership with each of the local councils, encouraging locals to go and explore their local areas, and take advantage of the beautiful things to see and do. Lucky for us as at Man and Van Wandsworth, we have ample opportunity to soak up the sites of the city as we drive through many of the different areas on our way to and from removal jobs.
Let us know your thoughts and which iconic image you would be proud to have representing your borough!

At a time when we’re all saving the pennies and looking at ways to cut costs, flat sharing has been an increasingly
popular way of reducing outgoings, with many young professionals moving to the Southern suburbs of London with the help of Man and Van Clapham. Its relatively inexpensive properties have been a godsend during the recession to those who have wanted to recently downsize, and for first time buyers, having lodgers or flatmates to help pay the bills is an excellent idea. This young, vibrant part of the city offers so much to the new resident, with a host of bars, clubs and restaurants to whet any appetite. For anyone of a theatrical inclination, the streets fill with fancy dress costumes, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night- it is quite a site to behold!
Good thing the population seem to be migrating to Clapham, too, as the summer months on and around Clapham Common see an explosion of activity, a huge range of festivals and events to cater for every age group. The Ben and Jerry’s Sundae festival arrives mid summer, just in time to cool us down for any heat wave coming our way.
If you feel like you’d like to experience the party vibe of Clapham, and need a little hand moving, give us a call and find out for yourself what our friendly, personal service can offer you.

We’ve all been there. You wake on a Sunday morning, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and you can’t help but
have a spring in your step. You make your way to the unique and vibrant Camden market, where you pick up a few (in the loosest sense of the word) things; jewellery, clothes, lamp shades, nick nacks. They are just too lovely to resist. Suddenly you realise that you may well need a removals service to help you get it all home- or at least one man and van. Of course, we’re not sure if this may actually be a sensible way to do things, but if you find yourself in a tight spot and in need of a removals service pronto, give Man and Van Camden a call and we will do our very best to help you out. With an ever-friendly service and someone always on the end of the line to speak to, you’ll have back up and support if you should need it, for every step of planning, arranging and carrying out your removal.
Not only this, but feedback on our service is always welcome- you can leave a comment on our blog site, or even get in touch with us directly either by phone, email or fax. We hope we can help you out in the future!

It a commonly known thing that we at Man and Van Battersea love our food- particularly our drivers who need a good deal of nosh to keep them going throughout their busy days of lifting and lugging, pushing and pulling, and taking a good deal of care over moving your wares around. In order to keep our lads going, they often stop off for a quick bite to eat before popping off to a job, and where better to do that than some of the delicious eateries in and around Battersea. If you’re ever near the Northcott Road on a Saturday morning, swing by the delicious bread and cake stalls- excellent sources of energy for active adults and kids alike!-and sample what they have to offer. If you’re after something a little more substantial, then Northcott Road also boasts a whole host of other restaurants to grab a bite, such as Gormet Burger Kitchen, Buona Sera, and The Boiled Egg and Soldiers, all very friendly places to eat with a great personalised service, just like we strive to give at Man and Vans. With a family feel to our business, just like many of these eateries, you can rest assured that you will receive a professional and helpful service for every part of your move, from the time you pick up the phone to the moment that the last chair is taken into your new accommodation. Of course, if you’re moving away from Battersea, it may be a good idea to stock up on some of the local treats before you go!
