Man and Van work in Wandsworth, London has always been easiest for us. When we started our business in 2004 we were based in SW18 and spent our first years navigating the famed gyratory and one way system.
Last year we moved just down the road to SW19, but we haven’t forgotten our roots. It is easier for us to get to work that starts or ends in SW18 and therefore we offer a discount of £10 off the first hours work for any Wandsworth work.
Check out our price list and make an online enquiry and we will go further – if you manage to find a cheaper quote for the work from a Man and Van company we will price match the quote.
We look forward to hearing from our Wandsworth neighbours.

Man and Van London man and van wandsworth
As part of every move there is always the excess furniture, clothing and flotsam that our customers find that they don’t require any more. In one move that we did recently there was over a Luton Vans worth of old items that the customer had decided that they didn’t need any more. Â
Man and Vans Ltd can take care of removing items to local tips in South, West, North and East London as part of a general office or home move but it is important for our customers to bear in mind certain considerations prior to using our services.
- For the general refuse parts of the tips there are separate areas for different kinds of waste. Would it be possible for you to separate your rubbish into separate piles e.g. metals, wood, clothing so  that we can easily separate  them at the tip. We do not have the time at the tip to separate these for you.
- We are charged on weight and there are minimum charges that we incur. The minimum cost is around £50 and this can go up dramatically if there are higher levels of rubbish.Â
- Customers who go to the local authority tips in their own vehicles are allowed to use a separate section of the tip for free – if you are dealing in small amount of rubbish this may be preferable.
- We charge based on weight and also time taken to arrive and deliver the waste – it is important that customers are aware of our hourly costs before moving forward with our services.
- Please avoid the idea that everything you don’t need has to be taken to the tip. Services like Recycle.co.uk and www.uk.freecycle.org can allow you to pass not needed items onto other at no cost.
- Rather than tipping unwanted furniture customers may prefer to use our storage services to hold items of furniture etc for a time while they settle in their new home. See the storage section of our main website.
Our local “civic amenity sites” where we do the majority of our waste dumping for customers are  in Smugglers Way in Wandsworth or at Cringle Way in Battersea and is run by the WRWA. The summary below if from their website -Â
“Western Riverside Waste Authority (WRWA) was established in 1986 as an autonomous statutory local government body to undertake the waste disposal functions prescribed by the Local Government Act 1985 and the Waste Disposal (Authorities) Order 1985. The Authority assumed responsibility for waste disposal on behalf of four London Boroughs; Hammersmith and Fulham, Lambeth,Wandsworth and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.”
- Cringle Street, Battersea, SW8 5BX – Open 24 hours a day, but proximity to New Covent Garden market means that it is not for the squeamish in the middle of the summer.
- Smugglers Way, Wandsworth, SW18 1JS- Opening hours found on WRWA website
If you wish to do it yourself opening times and locations are given below – if not just give Man and Vans a call on 0845 170 0660 or simply fill in our request further details form.

Man and Vans provides Man with a Van services to business and residential customers across London – and as part of this struggle on behalf of our customers to deal with parking wardens. Although we assist customers with avoiding tickets sometimes tickets are issued erroneously or maybe occasionally because the parking warden is having a bad/vindictive day.
We cannot take responsibility for tickets – laid out in our terms and conditions – while on removals work for a customer so we provide full details on how to avoid these tickets.
Councils allow Removals Exemption
Although not commonly accepted by councils in day to day parking enforcement – Â in the detail on their parking regulations most authorities allow an exemption to a removals of furniture. If you contact your local council you can get a definite answer on whether they will accept this commonly held exemption.
Cover yourself and getting a parking bay suspension
In our experience though the exemption above is not enough to ensure that our vehicle remains ticketless. However parking wardens will leave us and you alone if you apply in advance for a
parking bay suspension – to the sceptical it does look like they only leave you alone if you have paid for the privilige.
If worst happens you can challenge the ticket
Although we require that customers pay in full for parking tickets received at the end of the job – you can request that we don’t pay it immediately so that you can put in a claim against the ticket. We recommend
Ticket Busters who claim to get off 90% of parking tickets. In our experience through a related company – Â
The Water Delivery Company – Â this can be the case as long as you have a valid reason and relevant documentation backing up your claim.

Man and Van work is not continuous throughout the year and over Easter and Christmas we are pleased to say that our customers in general all take time off from moving and spend time with their families. Since we started back in 2006 these periods seem to have remained sacrosanct – in a world where little remains untouched by commercial pressures – and this year we decided to close up for four days and give our staff a break from work.
We will be back in operation on Tuesday 14th April and Roman has been tasked with checking our emails over the weekend from time to time If you wish to make an enquiry you can leave a message on 0845 170 0660 or simply use our enquiry form on our main website. We will respond to you on Tuesday.
