It is very sad to see that the parking in London is so inflexable and set up to trap people in receiving fines especially those who visit from overseas. I wonder why the tourism is falling with such abuse of the potential travellers.
I recieved a fine when I first arrived at the motel where I was staying and when I went inside to book in and go up to my room, unfortunately when i arrived no one was at the office, I therefore went to my room and only for a few minutes. On my return there was an infringement notice under my windscreen wiper. As usual for anyone parking I looked at the sign when I entered the road and it clearly stated that it was a "Controlled Zone" mon - fri 8.30am to 6.30 pm I therefore parked near the sing where there was a space available. Since it was after 7pm it would and every normal person would believe to park would be within the requirements and no fine would ensue, but NO the British do not, apparently they place other signs further down the road to contradict this, are we supposed to travel the length of the road every time I park to find a sign to disagree with each other???? What a way to beat the recession, lets just book every one we can trick!!! Then when I want to get on the site to dispute it, it is very difficult to find where, as travelling I was not in England long enough to get on here and it is not easy to find an area for the dispute.

[...] ticketless. However parking wardens will leave us and you alone if you apply in advance for a parking bay suspension - to the sceptical it does look like they only leave you alone if you have paid for the privilige. [...]
